OK. Here is the final cut. Ignore any team and position you may have been listed in. Craig, I or Amanda will confirm the teams on arrival tomorrow. Your child has been selected now, and this is the final version, so please don't let the team down! We have 20 players, and 20 places, so there are no substitutes and no reserve players.
09.00 meet time for a 09.30 start. There will be hundreds of children present, so please make sure you keep an eye on your own. Every team plays three league format games in the morning, and then knockout matches in the afternoon, so earliest finish is likely to be some time after 13.30, with latest finish something like 17.30. Obviously these timings are very loose indeed!
Kit-wise, if you have a plastic bat, please bring it - plastic bats with these balls are much better and hit the ball further than wooden ones! There is no need for pads, gloves or a helmet, but you may want to bring a box for batting.
Rules will be explained in full on arrival, but it is 10 x 5 ball overs for each team, with every player bowling one over. Batting is in pairs for 2 overs only. 1 innings per team. Games tend to last around an hour or so, depending on how quickly we get moving.
Please make sure you bring sun cream, plenty of water, a sun hat, and a jumper just in case - the forecast is beautiful in the morning, but cloudier as the day goes on. There is a barbecue, and probably ice creams, but it may be wise to bring snacks and drinks to make it through, as it may be a long day, especially if it stays warm.
